Connie “Paprika” Leaverton established Walkabout Productions in 1987 in Los Angeles after working for Steven Spielberg, Disney Studios and Universal Studios, and others in Los Angeles. With a degree in Television from Texas Tech University, she found her life long calling as a filmmaker.

In 1989, Paprika was drawn back home to Austin, Texas to produce corporate films and commercials. During this time she found the world of juggling which transformed her life and then combined with her filmmaking.

As a film producer and a professional juggler, Paprika went on the road to find the story of the only Matriarchal culture of women jugglers in the world. She found this vanishing culture after she finished producing/directing the DVD release of ‘Trailblazers: Women Who Juggle’ (vimeo)

Leaverton continues to produce, shoot, and direct her own films and documentaries while developing new and exciting projects for the future. She strives to find projects that make the world a better place.

Her journey into Tonga gave her insight into a world where juggling transforms and empowers the women of this Polynesian Culture. ‘Keep HIko Alive’ has become her new mantra.

To date, she has won 23 awards for her educational and insightful videos, as well as multiple awards for her recent film ‘The Queen’s Influence - The Vanishing Culture of Hiko in Tonga"

Leaverton still works as a comedy juggler and magician, traveling the world whenever possible. She is based in Colorado and Austin, Texas.
